Yemen's children face triple crisis
As conflict rages in Yemen, the country is also facing both the world’s largest food security crisis and its most severe cholera epidemic. Children are suffering disproportionately from this triple crisis: forced from their homes with limited access to food, basic healthcare or clean water, 1.8 million children face acute malnutrition, and they make up a significant proportion of the country’s 396,086 suspected cholera cases. Children have also been torn from their schools and forced to live in makeshift camps, headed for a future marked by fear and uncertainty. Getty photographer Giles Clarke spent weeks in Yemen documenting the impact of the triple crisis on children’s lives.
